October at 621 Gallery opens on First Friday, Oct 5, 6-9pm, and features three US photographers: Michael Kolster from Maine, with his ambrotypes of American Rivers; Mathew Allred from Salt Lake City, Utah, with his time-lapse color heliographs; Michigan-based Stafford Smith with his unique photomontage series, Family Portraits. In the Nan Boynton Gallery is local ceramic artist Pamela Theis. The exhibit runs from Oct 5-28.
Also, on First Friday Oct 5, 621 Gallery will have a one-day outdoor exhibition in the 621 Sculpture Garden of Ira Hill’s AMERICAN EXPRESSIONS, an interactive American Flag sculpture.
Oct 11, 5-7 is Art Happy Hour, an opportunity to see the art without the crowds
Oct 20, 1-5pm is Fall Fever at 621 Gallery: free mask-making for visitors of all ages and a Day of the Dead skull painting workshop, taught by Sunny Spillane ($15 per person, $10 for members)
Oct 21, 4-6pm: 621 Salon, Readings organized by Apalachee Review
