PLEASE EXIT, DOORS ARE CLOSING
an exhibition by Tatana Kellner
January 2nd – 31st, 2020
My work is rooted in social issues. I create prints, drawings, installations, and artists’ books that explore politics, economy, environment and social justice issues. Recent installations have dealt with gun violence, environmental degradation, politics, religion, and the changing media landscape.
As a naturalized American citizen, I find the current debate about immigration troubling. Our history of accepting immigrants, is essential to defining who we are, and what makes our society so vibrant. Please Exit, Doors are Closing celebrates how the history of accepting immigrants to the USA, is essential to defining who we are as a nation, both by enriching our cultural horizons as well as contributing significantly the science, industry and the humanities.
