621 Gallery & Clavilux present
Hollis Frampton’s A LECTURE (1968)
An Expanded Cinema Event
Part projector performance, part guided meditation, A LECTURE deconstructs the symbiotic acts of filmmaking and filmviewing to their most elemental components: a darkened room, a machine, and human perception. First performed in October 1968 at Hunter College as a collaboration between experimental filmmakers Hollis Frampton and Michael Snow, 621 Gallery presents a re-creation of this seminal work of expanded cinema and performance art.
Clavilux is the on-going expanded cinema project of Dave Rodriguez, audio-visual archivist, filmmaker, and member of the 621 Gallery Board of Directors. IG @clavilux_of_greater_florida
